It’s such an art piece, and you made a really interesting point about these uber boxes tipping the balance in terms of viability. I’m definitely getting the Blu-ray/ CD box and the separate book. Thank you so much for another excellent video and for kindly taking the time to go through all of this Andrew. I’ll never be able to afford this box, but it’s been really enjoyable looking through all of it. It’s certainly a very cool and beautiful package. I’ve seen people complaining about the price, and while it is a lot of money, there’s an incredible amount of stuff included! The Lennon estate have been really generous with this release; it’s been great to see real fans like yourself, BeatleyTone and others who have not only (I presume) spent a lot of your own money on The Beatles plus the various solo releases over the years, but also your reviews have, I assume, resulted in a lot of sales, and it’s so nice to see them recognising that by sending the Mind Games boxes for you to review. It’s not like they’ve been sent to people who couldn’t care less, but people who appreciate the gesture. Also, the Uncut CD - this is essentially giving those of us who buy the 2CD version a 3rd disc of highlights from the big box! (I’d love the Deluxe Edition but I’m now disabled and unable to work (not complaining or looking for sympathy, just stating a fact) so I don’t think I’ll be able to afford it - however as you say, they’re kindly putting it on the streaming platforms and it’s also on preorder for £34.99 on Apple Music, which while you don’t get the lovely book etc is a very good option for those of us on a budget; again, they could have put this behind the paywall of buying the physical box, but instead they’re making this available to pretty much everyone - I think John would approve of that. Especially in a day when record companies are charging more and more for physical media, Yoko and Sean are to be applauded for how they’ve handled this reissue. Thank you again for sharing this and congratulations on having it sent to you - you must be absolutely thrilled! 😊

Congratulations on receiving this from the estate Andrew - well deserved and thanks for showing it as I've been dying to see what it looks like in the flesh(so to speak). What a beautiful piece. Glad you managed to get up from the floor😂
Your excitement is addictive. Yoko must have had a real hands-on approach as her art and humour are all over this release. Thanks for sharing, love the box, can’t afford it but lovely to see… would love to see the zoetrope released separately and the maps are fantastic. Cheers.
i have the “you are here“ badge from the incredible Double Fantasy exhibition in Livepool. I saw that exhibition in 2018 and then in 2019 and only then did I notice that they had free badges there. badges and the “breathe“ card that Yoko gave to John.

Hi, Andrew. Thank you for showing this ridiculously gorgeous box set. It’s also ridiculously expensive, so I’m not going to buy it, the 2 cd version for me. Not because I don’t want it, a purely financial decision. But, yeah, it’s certainly a piece of art, and I’m happy for you and anyone who gets it. Enjoy ! Geir, Norway. 👋👍
Thank you so much for this opportunity to see the contents within this massive box set. I’m really on the fence on this. Excellent video regardless. Great job again Andrew, and congratulations on adding this amazing piece to your collection.
I don't think even Lennon himself would have thought that an album that was re-released on the budget 'Music for Pleasure' label was worthy of this hyperexpensive overblown treatment, but if it funds more physical media releases then I suppose it's ok. Having said that, the 2002 remix by Peter Cobbin was miles better than the original. I'm looking forward to the Super Deluxe Peter Jackson remix of the Star Club tapes, with Star Club ashtray, beer mug, West German work permits, and bottles of Prellies and antibiotics...

Hi Andrew, a very nice presentation of this Super Deluxe Box Set, for me it is mostly the music that counts and I sincerely hope that the 7X LP box will one day be released separately. Best Regards from The Netherlands
Excellent review and well deserved. I can’t see most of us getting this massive box set. I’m definitely purchasing the two disc set. I’m really only interested in b sides and unreleased songs.
Thank you Andrew for this. This really is a beautiful box set, but I have to say that this not going to be a set that is going to be played very much, if at all, as this is a very elaborate box to open. However should I be successful with the Euromillions I may consider buying a copy.. Keep your fingers crossed.. I'm now convinced that those are Star constellations on the inside of the first layer, and that and numerology are going to be the keys to solving the puzzles/mind games..
A very comprehensive unboxing - thanks for posting. It’s a bit more than the £2.99 I paid for the MFP release of Mind Games from Woolworth’s back in the day but that’s inflation for you. It didn’t come in its own plastic box back then but it did come in its own plastic bag and I even had a few pennies left for some pick ‘n mix 👍
Thank you for the showing. Pretty huge. Mine will arrive in around ten days. Can you give out the dimensions so I can carve out a storage space for it?
Beautiful set. Great unboxing video. But I’m happy with the standard 6 cd box to go along with the previous sets. I hope they sell out though to encourage them to continue with more Ultimate sets.
All very nice, but where the hell are you going to store it and every time you want to get an LP out to listen to it it’s going to take about 20 minutes to get all the packaging out of the way!!
Great unboxing. Very informative. Would you please do a quick video of how it is put back together? Especially interested in how do you keep the panels up to get the cube back over them. That's four panels that have to be held in place for the outer box to go over.🤔🤔🤔
Another Freebie for Andrew!!! I just don’t know. Are you sure you will have room for that GIANT Box? I really don’t see how you are gonna squeeze that monster on your shelves. 😂 Well, I am really very delighted for you.
Wow Mr. Dixon You said it Right This is a very impressive box set Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford it because it’s really expensive like you said However, I am thankful that I was able to afford the box with the six CDs and 2 blu-rays I want to thank you Mr. Dixon for going into detail when describing this big fat cube Even though I can’t see, I could imagine that it looks very cool and the fact that everything is stored in a Yoko Ono danger box is very neat It doesn’t really bother me that you could only get the vinyl in this big fat cube because I am mostly a CD buyer and I also want to say thank you to Yoko and Sean because everything else that is in this big fat cube can be bought separately I will catch you on the next video Mr. Dixon and I send my blessings to you and also to Yoko and Sean and to John, who is in heaven
I see your REL woofer in the background, a lot of people would dismiss such a thing for a 2 channel system, I couldn't go without one now, adding that punch in the low end has improved my listening experience greatly. I will stay with my original CD thanks in part to my sub woofer and streaming.
I've pre-ordered this monstrosity, but to be frank I'm experiencing mixed feelings. I had also considered tilting the cube on its side to keep the vinyl lps vertical, but my question then is ---- is there anyway to change the plastic box art so John's face remains upright, and not on its side?
Thanks for doing such a thorough and well shot unboxing. Entirely too rich for my wallet, but the love and care that has been put into this set is all too evident. Despite having got the three previous Ultimate Collection Lennon sets, I was going to sit this one out as it is far from my favourite JL set. Between your vids & discussions elsewhere, I’m in for the 6CD/BR box now, got a feeling this release will win me over as the Wild Life & RRS Archive Deluxe sets did for those albums. Keep up the good work, it’s appreciated! 👍
You must be exhausted after this Unboxing! Personally I saw a lot of Cardboard and a lot of Paper. John didn’t think much of this LP back in the day and I agreed with him. Have a rest Andrew, you deserve it. 😂
I’m surprised no one is putting reviews up for the new mixes. Usually it’s a race to post the first review. I’ve stopped typing in the search for the reviews, cause no ones doing them.
Fantastic extravagant release for an album that initially John Lennon was fairly blasé about on its first release. I remember him being interviewed for Mind Games and he said something like :- " I haven't got anything significant to say about this album. It's just a bunch of songs. That's what singer/songwriters are supposed to do, isn't it? Make albums..." Thanks very much for showing us this release which a lot of us won't be able to afford!
Blimey Andrew! I'd already given myself a good talking to about not buying this & I was staying strong. One view of your video & I've crumbled! It's ordered. Nice review. 👌🏼
You failed to mention that if you're changing a flat tire, one can use this to place under the vehicle to hold it up. Thank you, for taking the time to review it.
Thanks for the unboxing, Andrew. I quickly realized that this is definitely not the version to buy if you are primarily interested in the music; too much effort in the unpacking/repacking. A hoarder's delight, however!
If this sort of thing continues, I expect Walls & Bridges to come as a working model of New York City... or thinking about it, that would be the deluxe version of Sometime In NYC!
Interesting to see it all. The cardboard ‘cylinder’ with the zoetrope discs is a zoetrope - I imagine it will fit on the turntable. Looked like a couple of stereoscope pictures on the sleeves in the full vinyl. Going with the theme I’d say one was John, the other yoko. Also another sleeve in the box with the plastic cover to give you the two image trick.
Great review of what is really a piece of art. Nice to see inside but the 6cd set is quite enough of these tracks for me. I wonder if boxes like these are things you can invest in like paintings or gold bars and go up in price?
Do buyers have to design their own shrine to display this cube, in one of the rooms in their house, for to be displayed at it's best? I remember the first time I visited a friend with his own hi-fi room circa 1980, and with the hi-fi in the middle of one side of the room and his LPs either side and speakers suspended from the ceiling. Shrine type thinking went with serious music back then, and there was plenty of music to be serious about....
as a fan I would love to get everything but the cost puts it out of the question. I am working on getting the deluxe box cd set however! Loved the Lennon Liverpool map and when you said it was available seperately, I checked it out only to be sold out. I will continue to see if will come back in stock. Thanks Andrew for another great presentation and very happy you received that cube !!

Thank you so much Andrew fascinating video great to see the content I have ordered 6cd can’t wait 🎸👍
Very cool, thanks. I'll be just fine with the double vinyl
Hi Andrew, a very nice presentation of this Super Deluxe Box Set, for me it is mostly the music that counts and I sincerely hope that the 7X LP box will one day be released separately. Best Regards from The Netherlands
Great video ! Glad you showed everything in detail, Very interesting.
Excellent review and well deserved. I can’t see most of us getting this massive box set. I’m definitely purchasing the two disc set. I’m really only interested in b sides and unreleased songs.
Don't know what happened to me. All out of nowhere just started singing "Baby, you're a rich man". Great review, thanks for the insight Andrew!
Thanks, I wish I was!
Thanks Andrew. Great as always. I have less than a fortnight to wait. And even that’s too long! 🎉
I wonder if they were tempted to re-press it under the 'Music For Pleasure' label?
I would love to get that box set but of course the only thing that is stopping me is the price, that is why I went with the 6 CD box 😊
Very impressive work of art! Love the zoetrope discs! 😀
Yes they are very cool!
Thank you so much for sharing this
😀✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨👍
What a magnificent thing🎵🌞🎵🌞
This looks amazing! I'd love to have one, but it is currently out of my price range. Perhaps, if it is available in a few months, I'll pick it up.
Thank you for the showing. Pretty huge. Mine will arrive in around ten days. Can you give out the dimensions so I can carve out a storage space for it?
It's a 13 inch cube.
That's four panels that have to be held in place for the outer box to go over.🤔🤔🤔
You'll probably need four hands (at least) to put it back together!
@@philippecolinge5334 I was thinking the same thing! Maybe everything needs to be replaced upsidedown. This is part of the box set game😂
Another Freebie for Andrew!!! I just don’t know. Are you sure you will have room for that GIANT Box? I really don’t see how you are gonna squeeze that monster on your shelves. 😂 Well, I am really very delighted for you.
Dixon hasn't been this exciting since the Dune Popcorn cup
@@UnderTheCovers1 I regret googling that!
Wow Mr. Dixon
You said it Right
This is a very impressive box set
Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford it because it’s really expensive like you said
However, I am thankful that I was able to afford the box with the six CDs and 2 blu-rays
I want to thank you Mr. Dixon for going into detail when describing this big fat cube
Even though I can’t see, I could imagine that it looks very cool and the fact that everything is stored in a Yoko Ono danger box is very neat
It doesn’t really bother me that you could only get the vinyl in this big fat cube because I am mostly a CD buyer and I also want to say thank you to Yoko and Sean because everything else that is in this big fat cube can be bought separately
I will catch you on the next video Mr.
I got that one at Christmas and then a few weeks later added a 2nd at the back of the room, absolute game changers! 👍
I've pre-ordered this monstrosity, but to be frank I'm experiencing mixed feelings. I had also considered tilting the cube on its side to keep the vinyl lps vertical, but my question then is ---- is there anyway to change the plastic box art so John's face remains upright, and not on its side?
Ye's you could slip the perspex box back on from the side rather than down on top of it, then flip it so John is at the top
Thank you! You will get lots of enjoyment from that 6CD box.
Oof, that is some gift, you deserve it Andrew!
Wow, thanks for showing this Andrew, the cube is a bit pricey for me but I will buy the magazine.
Hi mate
A beautiful box.
It took a lot of inventiveness to develop such an item.
Enjoy it
Take care.
It hasn’t been officially released to the general public yet. The RUclipsrs who have the boxsets already received them all as free gifts.
@@BeatUpRecordsCDs Yes, I know but they can still do reviews.
I did a full 50 minute review last week 👍
@@AndrewDixonMusic Yeah, saw it. Ppl are taking quite a while to do reviews (including yours) is my point...
The John zoetrope was a really lovely idea, hope you get it working. 🙂
I'll let someone else test that!
I do not see any benefit of spending £1000 extra for no additional music.
You probably shouldn’t buy one then.
Who cares about the music? I want that UV pen.
You don’t need to.
@@barbatkinson7347 I'm not. I am buying the deluxe edition. I did give a hint.
I am not doing. I did give a hint. I will be buying the deluxe edition for £130.@@barbatkinson7347
Congratulations Andrew and thanks again for this great unboxing ! You're really the best ! And thanks to the Lennon estate for their great work !
Congratulations, Pal
Hi, I stick to my CD bought a couple of years ago, there are at least 100 albums i like more than mind games
Wow it’s a amazing set 😊Great video enjoyed it .
In the first album gatefold why is there the numbers 666?
Interesting to see it all.
The cardboard ‘cylinder’ with the zoetrope discs is a zoetrope - I imagine it will fit on the turntable.
Looked like a couple of stereoscope pictures on the sleeves in the full vinyl. Going with the theme I’d say one was John, the other yoko.
Also another sleeve in the box with the plastic cover to give you the two image trick.
Looks like plenty for me to still get to grips with!
Im be scared to peel that gaint square onion ... as id never get it back together again! Thanks for the unboxing Andrew very interesting!
Wow, that’s a lot to go over. Thanks Andrew
Thanks again Andrew. If you're willing to pick up the tab on my credit card I'll have one 😉
IF it was half the price... MAYBE the Collector in me would be having silly ideas. Thankfully, it is a months wages and out of my price range 😄
as a fan I would love to get everything but the cost puts it out of the question. I am working on getting the deluxe box cd set however! Loved the Lennon Liverpool map and when you said it was available seperately, I checked it out only to be sold out. I will continue to see if will come back in stock. Thanks Andrew for another great presentation and very happy you received that cube !!
I stick with my original John Lennon Mind Games album which i brought in 1973,
Still in perfect condition.
which are the titles of the hidden tracks on this new release ?
